yeah that was my point :'(
pugging sucks because to counteract 1 afker + 1 guy who has no clue whats going on, you have to do like 1500 damage somehow!

You can if you have a good commando running around with your fatlas.

Prepare for 5 minute queues.
They are splitting the community into two camps and its will be bad for all.

4 man grouping will remain unchanged, a new 8 man matchmaking mode will be added (where groups of 5+ only face other groups of 5+, up to 8; this could lead to 5v8). It also does not have ANY matchmaking, it's purely first come first serve. 5 hunchbacks could face 8 jenners, or 4 jenners and 4 atlas, or 8 atlas. Or 8 jenners vs. 8 atlas.

I agree. The best solution I think is the "pro drop" idea we came up with in closed beta, an extra drop that combines puggsters and 8 man premades and gives puggsters 3x normal rewards if they win.

I think 4 mans are still a horrible idea. If we want to play world of tanks we can play that crap.Don't need it here.

I didn't know that it didn't have any matchmaking at all. Well since its for pre-mades the groups only have themselves to blame for a 5v8 match, who knows some might want it.
Also glad they don't match classes either. If you are dropping as a group should be able to run however your group wants. Sure it can make for some annoying matches at times but also will make for some interesting ones.
But it is good to get groups dropping against groups finally. Needed to be done months ago, and will only help the overall game.

During closed beta, I argued over and over and over again that the entire root of fixing Matchmaking. In fact, the entire root of fixing a LOT of issues people have had, is in creating a simple Faction/Corp system with chatrooms. I'm not talking about a full blown Community Warfare - I'm simply talking about a single Variable that determines which "Faction" they belong to, as well as a simple mechanic for allowing a player to create a merc corp and to send invites to players. Then add chat rooms where the chat room you are in is determined by your Faction/Corp.
It's such a basic thing, yet it would have allowed players to quickly form groups, allow players to quickly ask each other how to play, allow players to actually form an in-game community. Allow players to form in-game identities.
But no, PGI got stuck trying to figure out what the word "double" meant for 3 months, and shoving MC sales in our face with every patch.

possible but at any rate there should be less than before. a lot of us want to play 8v8 in an organized fashion.
I could be wrong, but I think the 8v8 is going to be unbearably bad. Sync drops will be impossible at worst and difficult at best, and the lack of matchmaking is going to SERIOUSLY promote cheesy teams. Say goodbye to medium mechs, for example. It's possible there are enough masochistic players that they will lose to optimal teams all day long in suboptimal teams, but I imagine "optimal" is going to be so far away from fun that even the team that wins most games isn't even going to want to play that way... And everyone is going to go back to stomping 4 mans 'cus it's easy.
